• ACS Cat6:

ACS UTP Cat6 (Unshielded Twisted Pair): The most common type used for home and office, flexible, cost-effective, and sufficient for general networking.

ACS FTP Cat6 (Foiled Twisted Pair): These include foil or braid around individual pairs or the whole cable to reduce EMI and crosstalk, vital in industrial settings.

ACS SFTP Cat6 (Foiled/Shielded Twisted Pair): These include shielding and foil around individual pairs or the whole cable to reduce EMI and crosstalk, vital in industrial settings.

• Core Features of Cat6 Cables:

• Performance: Rated for up to 10 Gigabits per second (10GBASE-T), generally maxing out at 55 meters for this speed, or 1 Gbps up to 100 meters.
• Construction: Uses four tightly twisted copper pairs, often featuring a plastic longitudinal separator (spline) to minimize crosstalk and interference.
  

• Comparison:

• Cat6:   250 MHz, 10 Gbps up to 55 meters.
• Cat6A: 650 MHz, 10 Gbps up to 100 meters.

• ACS Cat6A:

ACS U/UTP Cat6A (Unshielded Twisted Pair): Common for 10GBASE-T applications, often with internal separators to reduce crosstalk.

 

ACS F/UTP Cat6A (Foiled/Unshielded Twisted Pair): Features a total overall foil shield protecting all four pairs, often used for better EMI resistance.

 

ACS S/FTP Cat6A (Shielded/Foiled Twisted Pair): Offers maximum protection with individual pair shielding and an overall braid screen, ideal for high-interference environments.

Jacket Ratings:

PVC: Standard jacket type suitable for basic patch cabling and non-plenum areas.

Riser (CMR): Designed to prevent fire from traveling up cables in vertical shafts between floors.

Plenum (CMP): Certified for installation in air-handling spaces (plenum spaces) due to low-smoke, non-toxic properties.

Environmental Application:

Indoor: Flexible and intended for standard patching and structured cabling.
Outdoor/Direct Burial: Features thick, rugged jackets (often PE) and water-blocking gels to withstand harsh  environments.
Cat6A is fully offering superior performance for PoE (Power over Ethernet) up to 100W due to improved heat dissipation.
